Answers
Q. Do you do on-site consulting?
Yes. There's no travel charge for Perth's inner suburbs. For other Perth suburbs, we charge travel at half the standard on-site hourly rate.
Q. Do you do consulting remotely?
Absolutely. We can (provided your firewall allows it and you have supplied authentication details) log into MS Windows and Unix (Linux, FreeBSD, SCO, etc) systems easily.
Q. What are the minimum hours?
A minimum 1 hour call and half hour blocks thereafter.
The service charge for this will be quoted including GST if you are resident in Australia.
You will be asked to approve any work likely to take two hours or more to complete.
Q. How should I prepare for remote consulting?
We suggest:
- Modify your server's root or Administrator password to something temporary which you can divulge to us. Don't feel you have to make it simple to remember.
- Ensure that your server is running with ssh or remote desktop enabled (remote telnet is not secure and passwords can be sniffed) and that your firewall will allow incoming connections.
- Contact us with your details through our SSL secure contact form. Please also include your contact phone number and physical address.
- One of our people will be in contact shortly. Remember to change your server's password back again once everything is completed!
Q. Are there lower rates for regular consulting?
Reduced rates and special conditions are negotiable for regular customers.
Q. What sort of attire do your staff wear on-site?
Generally, office casual: trousers, work shoes, polo shirt. If your workplace requires a different standard of dress (eg, suit and tie, protective steel cap boots, etc) please inform us beforehand.
