Answers

General

Q. Where can I find pricing and a features list?

This info is over here.

Q. Can I monitor a host I don't own or manage?

Absolutely. Of course, your chances of unlisting blacklisted hosts which aren't yours will be mixed at best ;-).

Q. How many blacklists does the service check?

We choose to monitor only widely used blacklists -- not shovel in anything we can find (this ensures you don't waste time chasing up blacklists very few real-world sites actually use).

The list of blacklists changes every once in a while as blacklists come and go. Currently, there are 14 in our list.

Q. Does this service help people spam?

No. Indeed our Terms Of Service are quite explicit about spam.

This service simply quickly notifies its users that they have been listed and provides an introduction to the delisting process. Essentially, it makes it easier for them to use the blacklist's own procedures to resolve issues quickly. In almost all cases, people listed in blacklists must correct whatever got them listed before they are delisted.

If anything, we feel the effect of our blacklist monitor service will be to allow our clients to be more aware of the issues.

Usage

Q. How do I set up monitoring for a host?

Sign up, login to your account, then add Slots to your Email Blacklist Monitoring block.

Then, go into the Administer section and add the IP addresses or hostnames of the system/s you want to be able to have access. Remember to set the notification recipient address/es.

Q. How often are hosts checked?

Once per day, early in the morning.

Q. How will I receive results?

Results can be sent to any email address you like. You can even choose to send the results for one host to one set of email addresses and results for other hosts to a completely different group of email addresses.

Q. If I have set a host to 'Skip OK' will I be notified when my host no longer appears on blacklists?

With 'Skip OK' on, you would receive:

With 'Skip OK' off, you would receive daily: The 'Skip OK' option (on by default) is the recommended setting as it ensures you won't get used to seeing our notifications in your email Inbox.

Q. How is a default Notify address chosen by the system?

You can easily change the Notify email account to another (or a number of comma separated accounts) through the interface.

Q. How do I contact you if my mail system is blacklisted and autons.net.au is rejecting my email?

Just use our SSL Contact Form to send us a message.
